Identification
Adults can grow to 29 cm in length. Unmistakable species. Male has head and neck bright pink. Double white and black collar on breast, belly and flanks grey. The rest of plumage is green and legs are dull reddish. Female is duller.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Indonesia and occurs south-west Sumatra, most of Java and Bali. Mostly found in montane forests, from 1400 to 2200 meters.

Status : The species is very poorly known and besides that, it is also shy and inconspicuous. Its status is poorly known but it isn’t believed to be threatened.
