Identification
This species can reach 58 cm in body length fr a weight of 8.5 kg, males being much heavier than females. Rufous-grey fur, white belly. Yellow cheeks, blue eye-ring, white-blue stripe above mouth. This subspecies has dark brown tail.

Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs in western Gabon and Republic of Congo. Species found from Cameroon and Central African Republic to Angola. Mostly found in tropical lowland and gallery forests, tall second growth as well.

IUCN RED LIST : NEAR THREATENED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species is still numerous throughout its range despite locally intense poaching and loss of habitat.
