Adults can reach a body length of 13 cm and a tail length of 15 cm. Long and slender tail, blackish with white bands. Large green eyes with vertical pupil. Coloration is blackish to grey-brown with clear speckling and thin white bands.
Range and habitat
This species occurs in South-East Asia, in south Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore. Other subspecies found on Borneo. Lives in primary rainforest and mature secondary forest.

Status : The species is occasionally collected for the trade and can be locally declining because of habitat loss but it remains abundant in protected areas.
