Notes : No subspecies known.
Adults can grow to about 20 cm in length. Variable species, with dark brown background color with more or less visible rows of whitish dots from head to flanks and back. Head usually striped. Throat can be bright red. Keeled scales.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-east Asia from Nicobar islands to Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Greater Sundas east to Bali. Lives in primary and secondary forests, woodlands, richly wooded suburban parks.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species has a large range but seems to be more dependant on forests and woodlands than other Eutropis. Still common locally so far.
