Identification
Maximum length is 13 cm. Unmistakable species with its round body. Coloration pinkish with bright orange dots all over its flanks and head. Orange lines radiating from its eyes. Elongated pink ventral and anal fins.

Range and habitat
Western Pacific Ocean, from Moluccas to Taiwan and Great Barrier Reef, eastwards to Fiji and Tonga. Lives in inshore coral reefs, sometimes close to steep drop-offs, from 15 to 70 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : This species is probably still at least locally common within its range. Occurs at great depth where habitat remains intact so far.
