Body length of 9 cm, wingspan of 18 cm, weight of 57 g. Medium-sized pointed ears, flat leaf-shaped nose. Very sharp and pointed teeth visible. Fur coloration is brown, becoming clearer on nape. White belly.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in Central America, from mexico (Sonora, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas) to Panama, then to South America, south to Argentina and Chile. This subspecies is found in most of south America except the western Andes areas. Lives in forests, deserts, woodlands, in both lowlands and mountains.
