Identification
Body length of 21 cm, tail length of 20 cm, weight of 270 g. Elongated snout, long furry tail. Fur gray-brown to olive-brown with white belly and breast. Males have a white ring around eyes.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia, from Bangladesh, extreme east India and Nepal to south China, south to Thailand and northern Malaysia. Lives in tropical and subtropical humid forests, plantations, up to 3000 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This species has a very large range and seems to remain fairly common to very common throughout. It occurs in many protected areas.
