Identification
Adults can reach 47.5 cm in length for a shoulder height of 18 cm. Weight is unknown. Fairly small species with thin legs and elongated nose. Coloration dark blackish-brown with white stripes on chin and breast. White belly.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Philippines and only occurs on Balabac, Ramos and Bugsuk islands in the Palawan region. Lives in primary and secondary forests, also shrublands with dense undergrowth.

Status : The species has a very small range and is in continuous decline because of poaching and destruction of habitat by human expansion.
