The species can reach 1.80 meters in length. Long head, blunt snout and big eyes. Head and neck olive brown with black and white markings. Longitudinal black-edged yellow line occurring up to half of body. Rest of body dark olive-brown.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia, from Myanmar to Cambodia and Vietnam, south to Malaysia, Borneo, Sumatra, Java, Bali and nearby islands. Lives in tropical rainforests, open forests, woodlands, savannas, gardens.

Status : The species is thought to be safe so far. It has a large range and is adaptable, occurring in man-made habitats. Often found as road-kills.
