Identification
Adults can reach a total length of 28 cm. Cylindrical body with a big head. Mouth under head and sucker-like. Coloration golden-greenish with a dark line running along flanks. Small spots on tail fin. Small tubercles on sides of head.

Range and habitat
The species occurs around Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, in the basins of the Mekong, Maeklong and Chao Phraya rivers. Also found in North Malaysia. Lives in medium to large rivers, near rocks and aquatic vegetation.

Status : This species has a large range but some populations are declining because of overexploitation (fishing and catching for aquarium trade).
