Identification
Adults can reach a maximum length of 10 cm. Body coloration is entirely pink to orange pink. Fairly thin vertical white band running behind eyes. Base of dorsal fin is white. Tail fin white. Bright yellow eyes.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in east Indian Ocean and west Pacific Ocean, from Gulf of Thailand to Samoa and Tonga, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia. Lives in lagoons and seaward reefs at depths down to 38 meters.

Status : This species  seems to be at least locally common even if targeted by fish collectors for aquarium trade.
