Identification
Adults can grow to a body length of 53 cm, tail length of 66 cm and weight of 2.5 kg. Fairly small civet with very long tail. Light brown with three longitudinal lines on back. Black feet, white throat, grey head with white ears.
Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs from Myanmar to Vietnam, south to south Thailand. Species found from Myanmar and south China to Java, Sumatra and Borneo. Mostly found in primary forests, rarely secondary growth, to 1500 meters.

Status : The species has a broad range but is dependant on primary forests which is source of concern with deforestation. Some populations endangered.
