Identification
Large body, large triangular head, short tail. Coloration usually grey to brown-grey with four distinct white spots on nape. Black band from eye to jaw, parallel to mouth. Very warty skin.

Range and habitat
Northern half of Africa, from Morocco to Egypt, south to Sudan, Central African Republic and Uganda. Found in dry rocky areas with cliffs and boulder plates.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species has a very large range with little to no habitat destruction. It remains common and rarely caught for the trade.
