Identification
The species reaches up to 30 cm in length (tail included). Powerful jaws, triangular head, armored plates on tail and back. Coloration bright green to bluish-green with yellow area around eyes and whitish belly.
Range and habitat
This species is endemic to to eastern Mexico and only occurs in the provinces of Oaxaca, Veracruz and Puebla. Lives in the canopy of montane and cloud forests, usually near bromeliads.

Status : The species has a very small range and its populations are highly fragmented. Main current threat is destruction of habitat.
