Identification
Adults can reach a maximum length of 15 cm. Large triangular-shaped head with blunt snout. Dorsal and adipose fins are separate. Coloration olive green to dark green. Small yellow spots on head becoming bigger on upper flanks.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Venezuela and only occurs in the Rio Orinoco and Rio Casiquiare drainages. Occurs on rocky river bottoms, amongst cracks and interstitial spaces.

Status : This species has been recently discovered and not assessed yet. It has a fairly small range and could become threatened by habitat degradation.
