Identification
Adults can reach a body length of 76 cm, tail length of 57 cm and a weight of 4.5 kg. Very long slightly prehensile tail. Short but powerful legs. Small head with round ears and dark snout. Pelage is mostly honey-beige colored.

Range and habitat
This subspecies is found in French Guyana, Guyana and Surinam. The species occurs from south Mexico and entire Central America to Colombia and Guianas, south to Bolivia and Central Brazil. Lives in most kind of forests, including dry forests, up to 2500 meters.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species has a large range and remains locally common. It is vulnerable to habitat fragmentation. Some hunting and collecting occur.
