Identification
Leg span up to 12 cm, body length is about 5.5 cm, smaller for males. Legs are all black with numerous long hairs. Cephalothorax is uniformly purple reddish. Abdomen dark brown with cross-shaped pinkish-red markings.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in Central America, being apparently endemic to Costa Rica. Mostly found in open and semi-arid to arid scrubland.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species hasn’t been assessed yet by IUCN Red List. Although collected for the trade, it still remains safe today.
