Identification
The species grows to a shell length of 35 cm. Shell is flat with strongly concave scutes and spiny scutes at the back. Large scutes on forelimbs. Head is yellowish with pink markings. Shell is brown with light beige to yellow scutes center.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-east Asia from Vietnam, Laos and north Thailand to Cambodia and northern Peninsular Malaysia. Lives in tropical montane evergreen moist and humid forests, to 2000 m.

IUCN RED LIST : ENDANGERED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species’ status is still poorly understood. It is vulnerable to loss of habitat and trapping for food but its habitat can be difficult to reach and survey.
