Identification
Adults can grow up to 5.2 cm in length. Small segmented antennae, strong legs, very shiny elytra. Abdomen and legs are dark blue to black. Head and pronotrum are blue with red metallic patches. Elytra yellow with metallic blue spots. Red patches on head for this subspecies

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-east Asia, from south China, south to Peninsular Malaysia and greater Sundas. Lives in humid forests.

Status : The species hasn’t been assessed by IUCN but it seems to be common although often collected for preserved insects market.
