Identification
The species can grow to nearly 6 cm in length. Wide black head with big brown eyes. Black thorax with yellow-orange edges. Females have an obvious T-shaped mark on thorax. Abdomen yellow-beige. Male has elongated mandibles.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia, in greater sundas Islands of Sumatra and Borneo (in Malaysia and Indonesia). Lives in primary and secondary forests.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species’ status isn’t assessed so far. Like most forest-dependant species, this beetle is likely to become threatened by loss of habitat.
