Identification
Adults can grow to at least 9 cm in length. Large spiny cephalothorax, short but wide abdomen. Males have very long and curved mandibles with two spines at the tip and a set of spines near the curve. Black coloration, brown on elytra.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia, particularly in Malaysia and possibly southern Thailand. Lives in primary and secondary montane forests.
