Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Male has orange head with orange eyes and white chin. Body pinkish-white with brighter pink centers to scales. Red blotches on upper flanks and bright red area on more than half of dorsal fin.

Range and habitat
Eastern Indian Ocean, only known from western Indonesia, around Sumatra and the Mentawai archipelago. Found around outer reef slopes, over rubble.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : This species has a very small range but isn’t affected by habitat loss. It is collected for trade in small numbers and this isn’t believed to be a threat at this time.
