Identification
Slightly smaller than other species of its genus, this bulbul reaches 20.5 cm in length for a weight of 38 g. Near crestless grey head with white markings around eyes and chin. Olive back, brown wings and bright yellow breast and belly.

Range and habitat
This subspecies from South Myanmar and Thailand to Malaysia, Sumatra and nearby islands. The species is also found around Borneo. Lives in mature closed-canopy evergreen forests, sometimes plantations, to 1000 m.

Status : The species is dependant on intact forests but can occupy even very small patches of forests in high densities. It can also live in mountain areas.
