Identification
Black head with strong blue iridescence and electric blue eyes, darker lores. Rest of plumage golden-yellow with olive tinge on breast, belly and back. Black tail band, black flight feathers.

Range and habitat
Subspecies occurs from northeast India to south China, south to Malaysia, Greater Sundas and west Philippines. Found in clearings, open areas and edges of forests, mangroves, gardens.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species is locally common and can withstand a little bit of habitat degradation. Caught for the trade, especially in Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. Monitoring is needed.
