Identification
Grey plumage with broad but faint white streaks. Wings and tail dull green with strong golden-yellow tinge. Bright yellow streaks on face. Subspecies with brown iris and brown-tinged belly.

Range and habitat
Subspecies occurs from southern Myanmar and Thailand to central Malaysia. Found in mixed and deciduous forests, preferably near forest edges and clearings, up to 1600 m.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species is common and seems to have benefited from deforestation. However it is locally declining (in south Thailand especially) because of trapping for the trade.
