Identification
Adults can reach a total length of 32 cm for a weight of 135 g. Species recognizable by the bright blue bare skin around eyes and cheeks. Black head with white crown-band. Green wings and tail. Rest of plumage whitish with black throat.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in extreme south New Guinea and in most of northern and eastern parts of Australia. Lives in woodlands, open forests, wooded savannas and mangroves, to 1000 m.

Status : The species seems to be common at least locally and can be found in many protected areas throughout its range.
