Identification
The species can reach 29 cm in length for a weight of 285 g. Thick horn-colored bill. Green wings and tail. White face with black cheek spot, black crown. Breast, belly and nape yellow-green with dark edges on feathers giving scaly effect.

Range and habitat
This species is found on Aru Island, Trans-Fly region of New Guinea, western-central mountain ranges . Lives in tropical rainforests, secondary growth, plantations, sea level to 2250 m.

Status : The species’ range is naturally fragmented but the species remains quite common in most of its known range so far.
