Identification
Adults can grow to 48.5 cm for a weight of 400 g. Long cream and orange bill ending in a casque. Plumage mostly yellowish olive-green with yellow tail and chestnut rump. Broad light pink eye-ring. Male is bigger than female.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South America, from south-east Colombia and south Venezuela to Guianas, Peru, north Bolivia and central Brazil. Lives in tall humid and primary forests, rarely gallery forests, to 1100 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species is still locally common and widespread. It is strongly linked to forests and therefore vulnerable to deforestation. Local declines noted.
