Identification
Adults can reach a body length of 11.5 cm for a weight of 13 g. Head, back, wings and tail dark olive-green. Yellowish rump, bright yellow throat. Grey belly with rufous-brown flanks. Black lores, thin white eyering.

Range and habitat
The species lives in eastern Asia. It breeds from extreme south-east Russia and north-east China and winters from south China to Myanmar and Cambodia. Lives in thickets and patches of jungle near water, forests, up to 2600 meters.

Status : The species has a wide range but isn’t numerous. It is still heavily trapped in China to be sold in cage-bird and food markets.
