Identification
Adults can grow to a length of 24 cm for a weight of 92 g. Grey head and neck. Breast is green with numerous grey freckles. Green wings, purple and orange belly. Forehead and sides of bill pink with yellow edge. Light grey bill.

Range and habitat
This species is endemic to the Pacific Archipelago of Northern Marianas Islands, occurring on the islands of Saipan, Rota, Agiguan and Tinian. Lives in forested areas, including mangroves and plantations.

IUCN RED LIST : NEAR THREATENED
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a very small range and is extremely vulnerable to introduction of alien predators (especially Boiga snakes). May be extinct on Guam.
