Identification
Yellow-green plumage with yellower tinge on belly. Pale grey head, male with black collar. Bill bright orange. Similar to P. himalayana but smaller, longer-tailed and clearer face.

Range and habitat
From east India and south China to Myanmar, Vietnam, central Cambodia and Thailand. Found in open and mixed forests, cultivations, tea plantations in foothills, from 600 to 3800 m.

IUCN RED LIST : NEAR THREATENED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species is uncommon and affected by habitat clearance. Birds are regularly caught for traffic in Myanmar, then sold in animal markets in Thailand and Vietnam.
