Identification
Yellow-green plumage, dark green wings, turquoise and green long tail. Orange and black bill, black collar, pink head with lavender nape. Subspecies with lighter pink head and larger wing patch.

Range and habitat
Subspecies occurs from Myanmar to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and south China. Found in open forests and well wooded areas, including clearing edges, to 1000 m.

IUCN RED LIST : NEAR THREATENED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : Still locally common although many of its populations in Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam are declining alarmingly because of intense trapping (affecting all Psittacula parakeets).
