Identification
Bright green plumage, large orange-red bill with clearer lower mandible. Subspecies with extensive blue crown and sides of back. Wings with black, blue, green and yellow markings.

Range and habitat
Subspecies only found on Luzon and Mindoro (Philippines), mostly in lowland forests, mangroves and plantations with trees near forests. It is a small island specialist.

IUCN RED LIST : NEAR THREATENED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : Species more and more affected by deforestation and large scale trapping for domestic markets. Internationally traded but not in large numbers, remains rare but well bred under human care.
