Identification
Adults can reach a length of 40 cm for a weight of 450 g. Unmistakable. Yellow bill. Plumage mostly coppery brown, some specimens showing green on wings. White head with blue collar. Blue and yellow tail.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to the western and eastern slopes of central mountain range of St Vincent Island (Lesser Antilles). Lives in mature forest, mostly where large trees occur, sometimes in cultivations.

Conservation
IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE
CITES : Appendix I
Status : The species has suffered catastrophic decline because of habitat destruction, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes and over-trapping. Legally protected now.
