Identification
The species can grow to 30 cm in length. Looks similar to A. jandaya but with more orange on face and most of wings yellow instead of green. Belly more yellow than A. jandaya, with orange restricted to lower belly and vent.

Range and habitat
This species occurs in South America, from north Brazil (Roraima) to western Guyana and maybe south-east Venezuela. Lives in open savannas, savanna woodlands and forested valleys.

IUCN RED LIST : ENDANGERED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species was previously abundant but constant pressure from trapping for international trade has wiped out entire populations in most of its range.
