Identification
Adults can reach 25 cm long for a weight of 75 g. Mostly green plumage with strong yellow tinge on cheeks and lower breast. Forehead to crown and nape black. Black breast with white streaks. Subspecies with broader breast streaks.

Range and habitat
Subspecies endemic to central-eastern Peru. Species found from central-east and southeast Peru to west Brazil and north Bolivia. Lives in humid and seasonally flooded forests in lowlands and foothills of Andes.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species remains common within its very small range. Most of its habitat remains preserved so far but it is vulnerable to any alteration.
