Identification
This species can grow up to 34 cm in length. Thick bright red bill, bright blue cheek patch and eye contour. Throat patch and belly bright yellow with olive-green lower breast. Blue tail. Bright green cap and back. No red on rump.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in western Indonesia and is endemic to the western mountain ranges of Java island. Lives in lower storey of montane rainforests, from 900 to 2500 meters asl.

IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE
CITES : Not Listed
Status : This is a restricted-range species. It is globally uncommon and may be declining because of habitat fragmentation and catching for the trade.
