Identification
The species can grow to 25 cm in length. Males are brighter colored with longer skin appendages. Body covered with filament-like skin appendages. Coloration usually cream with roughly parallel brown bands and streaks around body.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in Atlantic, Indian and Pacific oceans, around west African coasts, Caribbean Sea and from Red Sea to New Zealand and Hawaii. Lives in rocky and coral reefs, weedy areas, from 30 to more than 200 m deep.

Status : The species has a huge range and its habitat isn’t altered too much but it is targeted nearly worldwide for the aquarium trade.
