Identification
Large moray species reaching up to 1,80 meters in length. Large head with very wide mouth. Coloration is completely white to very pale grey with many fairly even black round spots (not grouped together or very uneven like G. favagineus).

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific area, from Comoros and Mauritius to south Japan, north Australia and eastern Indonesia. Lives in coastal coral reefs and outer slopes, down to 30 meters deep.

Status : The species seems to be at least moderately common throughout its range. It doesn’t seem to be facing any threats at this time.
