Identification
The species reaches up to 10 cm but maximum size remains unknown. Laterally compressed round-shaped body with high back and long fins with white edges and extensions. Silvery-blue body with fading vertical bands on flanks.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South America and is endemic to the Capiuru river basin in Brazil. Lives in freshwater slow-moving rivers, nothing else known.
