Identification
Adults can grow to 28 cm in length. Cylindrical body, snout shorter and more concave than G. aymonieri. Coloration mostly olive-beige with black dots on every flank scales and poorly defined horizontal row of black blotches.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to the Mekong River and is found in central and eastern Thailand, nearby Laos and central-eastern Cambodia. Lives in rivers, including rapids and other kinds of flowing water over rocky bottom.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : This species is more and more threatened by the building of dams, pollution of waters and destruction of its habitat. It could be uplisted soon.
