Identification
Adults can grow to 16 cm in body length. Long head with long triangluar snout and very small mouth with small barbels. Coloration from light grey to dark brown with alternating dark and light (cream to golden yellow) bands.

Range and habitat
The species is found in eastern Asia and is endemic to China, being found in the Yangtze river basin in Sichuan and Guizhou, and Mekong river basin in Yunnan. Lives in rocky streams, especially bottom parts, and shores of large rivers.

Status : The species’ status isn’t well known at this time since its entire range has been impacted by major pollution events in recent times.
