Identification
Adults can reach a length of 6.3 cm with females being slightly longer than males. Coloration mostly bright greenish-yellow with thin reddish bands becoming larger on tail peduncle. Tail fin red. Dorsal and anal fins with red spots.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to the island of Zanzibar, off the coasts of Tanzania (East Africa). Almost exclusively found in seasonal rainwater pools.

IUCN RED LIST : ENDANGERED
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a very small range and is more and more threatened by water pollution. Its populations are declining alarmingly.
