Identification
Adults can reach a maximum length of 11 cm. Body coloration bright clear orange with three vertical white bars strongly edged with black. Fins all edged with black. Dorsal fin shorter than A. ocellaris, black usually more present.

Range and habitat
This species occurs in the western Pacific Ocean, from Queensland and New Guinea to Great Barrier Reef. Lives in lagoons and seaward reefs at depths down to 15 meters.

Status : This species has a fairly small range and remains locally common within it despite being targeted by fish collectors for international trade.
