Identification
Bright blue coloration with scattered white dots on some flank scales. Belly, pelvic and most of anal fin bright yellow. Tail fin mostly yellow with black upper edge. Black spot at end of dorsal fin.

Range and habitat
Western Pacific Ocean, from the Coral Sea and northern Great Barrier Reef to Samoa. Found around lagoons and offshore coral reefs.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a fairly large range. It could be vulnerable to habitat loss. Caught sometimes in big numbers for trade. Population monitoring is needed.
