Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Adults can reach a body length of 7 cm. Rectangular and laterally compressed body shape. Coloration bright dark blue becoming even brighter on dorsal, anal fins and middle of flanks. Tail peduncle and fin are bright yellow.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indian Ocean and is only found around Sri Lanka and Andaman Sea. Lives in coral reefs, from 2 to 15 meters deep.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species isn’t threatened so far but could be declining if coral reefs keep being destroyed.
