Identification
Adults can grow to 12.5 cm in length. Small black dot on every flank scale, forming oblique lines. Black spot on top of back and top of tail peduncle. Coloration grey-brown to bluish on back, turning yellow towards belly.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the western Atlantic Ocean, from the Florida Keys and Gulf of Mexico to Venezuela and Guianas. Lives in inshore and offshore coral reefs, to 30 meters deep.

Status : The species has a large distribution and is common to very common in suitable habitat. Almost never collected for trade.
