Identification
Head slightly violet, clear eyes. Dark-edged dark-yellow line, sometimes turning black, on middle flank from head to tail. Fainter band above eye until tail. Fins yellow with blue-violet bands.

Range and habitat
Indo-Pacific area, from Mauritius and Maldives to Solomon islands, to Ryukyu islands and Great Barrier Reef. Found around rubble and sandy areas of seaward reefs.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a large range and is widely distributed, occurring in protected areas. No threats are known at this time but the species itself is almost not studied at all.
