Identification
Elongated cylindrical body, round head with large blue eyes. Coloration almost entirely shiny blue with darker blue area on mid-flanks. Two filament-like extensions on edges of tail fin.

Range and habitat
Pacific Ocean from South Japan, Philippines and northwest Australia to Line islands. Found around coastal reef slopes, over rubble and sand areas.

Status : The species has a large range and is widely distributed, occurring in protected areas. No threats are known at this time.
