Identification
Large anthias with deep body, reaching 14,5 cm in length. Orange head with blue-edged orange band from eye to pectoral fin. Flanks covered with yellow dots forming wavy lines. White belly. Red spot on middle of dorsal fin.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the western Pacific Ocean, from south Japan to Philippines and Australia, east to Vanuatu and Fiji. Lives in coastal reef areas and deep reef slopes, from 10 to 60 meters deep.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species is widespread, usually common and sometimes even abundant. It seems to be facing no threats at this time.
